3M™ Glass Safety Film for Homes
Anti Shatter Glass Protection Safety & Security Film
Did you know that tempered glass, commonly found in shower screens, is prone to spontaneous breakage? This is due to contaminants or impurities within the glass brought about during the manufacturing process. They can become unstable over time and result in stress release, causing the glass to break without warning and without any impact being applied to it.
3M Safety Film is a transparent film sheet, bonded to glass using strong 3M adhesives, which holds broken glass shards together, greatly reducing the possibility of injury or damage caused by flying glass shards.
Prevent Spontaneous Glass Shattering
A recent incident in Punggol East, where a tempered glass door shattered spontaneously, highlights the importance of using safety glass film.
3M Safety & Security Glass Film can help prevent glass from shattering into dangerous shards, protecting you and your loved ones from injury.
Exceptional Design & Strength
With its transparent design and exceptional strength, 3M Safety & Security Glass Film provides peace of mind without compromising aesthetics. Upgrade your home safety with 3M Safety & Security Glass Film and shield your family from accidents like the one that occurred in Punggol East.
Rigorously Tested
3M Safety & Security Glass Films are meticulously engineered and subjected to rigorous testing to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Meant for application on flat glass surfaces, our 3M Safety Film for household use (SH4CLARL) is designed to hold broken glass onto the film in the event of spontaneous glass breakage or accidental human impact. This reduces the possibility of injury or damage caused by flying glass shards.
3M Safety Film is suitable for areas such as shower screens, glass doors/partitions, glass railings and windows.
Tempered glass, while stronger than normal glass, is prone to spontaneous glass breakage. This is due to the presence of nickel sulphide, an impurity that is brought about during the manufacturing process of tempered glass. Over time, the impurities can become unstable and result in stress release within the glass, causing it to break unexpectedly and without any warning. So for added peace of mind, it is still better to have 3M Safety Film installed on your shower screen and any existing tempered glass in your home.
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. Hence there is no urgent need to install 3M Safety Film on it unless you require additional anti-spall protection.
If the film edges are constantly exposed to water, the water might come into contact with the adhesive and eventually cause the film to peel off from the glass.
To reduce the chances of this occurring, we will install the safety film on the “dry” side of the glass, away from direct contact with water.
Our 3M Safety Film uses a strong 3M adhesive to adhere the film to the glass, and is able to hold the glass together for up to 72 hours even after it breaks, giving you sufficient time to look for a replacement.
For glass surfaces with scratches, we can still install the safety film as the scratches do not affect the integrity of the glass. However, if you observe any cracks or chipped edges on the surface, that means the glass is already under stress. It is thus recommended to have the glass replaced for safety purposes.
Yes, we will need to remove any handles on your shower screen first as the film needs to be applied on a flat glass surface.
The warranty period is for 3 years and covers any peeling and bubbling issues. For the warranty to be valid, the film must be installed for interior use only and away from direct contact with water. For example, for a shower screen film installation, the warranty will be valid only if the safety film is installed on the “dry” side of the glass.
The film adhesive will not bind well to a textured glass surface, hence we are unable to install 3M Safety Film on it. The safety film can only be installed on a flat glass surface. Please check with our sales consultant if you have further clarifications.
