Additional costs
- $60 – Drilling on hard top (e.g. granite, marble or quartz) or multiple cabinet walls (e.g. more than 2 holes)

A power outlet and a nearby water source is required. A common installation method is to drill an 8mm-sized hole in your countertop to allow the water piping to pass through.
Yes, you can get your contractor to drill a 7-8mm-sized hole, preferably at the back of the countertop, to allow for the piping to pass through.

3M recommends changing the filter once every 6 months — there is only 1 filter to be changed and you can easily do it yourself!
The filter capacity is 4,000 liters, sufficient for daily use for up to 10pax. If usage is higher, you may need to change the filter sooner to maintain the water flow-rate into the dispenser.
To ensure that your dispenser is well-maintained, we also recommend the following:
- Do your own cleaning of the dispenser (at least once a month).
- Engage our professional cleaning services (at least once a year).
There is no filter replacement indicator for the dispenser. However upon installation, our installers will write the date of installation on the cartridge itself. We recommend that you change the filter cartridge for the dispenser every six months.
Changing the cartridge is easy, and something you can do on your own!
- First, unscrew the cover on the right of the dispenser.
- Grab the filter cartridge firmly and twist it in an anti-clockwise direction. Tilt it and remove it from its filter head cavity.
- Insert the new cartridge into the filter head cavity, twist it in a clockwise direction until it is locked in place.
You can buy your replacement cartridges from our online shop — we’ll deliver the cartridges directly to you via a courier service.
NOTE: If you buy a replacement cartridge from 3rd-party sources, i.e. neither Jestac nor our authorized dealers, we are not obliged to do service and repair for your dispenser. Your warranty may also be VOID as we won’t be able to confirm the authenticity of the 3rd-party cartridges.
It is recommended by 3M to change the UV sterilizer light every year. As the UV light intensity is the determinant of its sterilization power, we recommend our customers to change the UV light periodically to maintain its sterilization ability.

However, there are certain substances that some people may not want in their drinking water, which can be removed by 3M’s water filtrations systems:
- Lead: It is still possible for contaminants like lead to enter your water from your household plumbing. Metal faucets and fixtures made from brass, including chrome-plated brass fixtures, can corrode and release lead into the water, especially hot water.
- Chlorine: Before water is piped to our homes, it is disinfected with chlorine to get rid of all harmful bacteria and viruses that can spread waterborne diseases. Some people may not like the chlorine taste and odor in the tap water.
No. 3M’s focus is purely on providing clean filtered water based on proven science. The 3M filter maintains the pH value of water supplied by PUB at 7.5-8.3; there are no additives added to change the water’s pH level.
No. The 3M Dispenser only requires a water inlet. It does not have a water outlet because it doesn’t discharge any waste water, which means more efficient use of your water!
